anyone looking for the name ICKE will find that the information they may have shows a midland connection. This is because most of the families of that name originated from Shifnal/Sherrifhales area which is in Shropshire, from my own tree it appears they started to move into the towns for work (wolverhampton) , There are quite a few buried in Sheffihales with headstones and all the connections I have found relate in the 1600 and 1700 years to that area , hope this is of some help to someone!! |
