pauline Jewitt 30/7/2007 I am trying to trace my gr/gr I believe his name may have been John ,born in or around the Hexham area .I think he married ELIZABETH ARMSTRONG .They are recorded 1871 census as having 5 Children, Elizabeth 10,William 8,Sarah Jane 6, Polly5,and Catherine 2. My grandfather Joseph Jewitt was born about 1875/77 in Hexham , his mother Elizabeth appears to have re-married a MARTIN ROBSON in Wylam on the 1871 census so it looks like John died in those 10 yrs ,however my grandfather appears to have been born after the death of his father. Does anyone recognise these names Pauline |
