John Willam Bates I am Trying to find anyboby who might be related to a John Willam Bates (my grandfather). I only have a little information on him as he was evacuated down to Brixham from London in the first world war. Not many of my living reletives no much about my grandfather's childhood past as he didn't talk about it often. so this is the infromation I have so far John William Bates Born 1910 or there abouts Origainally from London but evacuated to Brixham Married a scullery maid called Doris Hackworthy (my grandmother) Joined the Salavation Army where he met Doris Fought in the second world war in Burma with the (gurka regiment I think) Had 6 children with Doris: Graham Ronald Kenneth Syliva Heather Brain Any information would be much appeciated as I would love to unlock my gandfathers past.
