Hi,

I am trying to find out the names of the parents of Edward Kennelly. His birth is registered as 2nd April 1829 at St. Peter's, East Liverpool and he married a Sarah Howells. Can anyone help?

As civil registration did not start until 1837 his birth won't have been registered in April 1829.

You may find details of a baptism pre-1837 however.

As Pete said, civil registration didn't exist pre 1837....where did you get that birth date from?

found this christening on the IGI which might be of interest to you....the year is 2 years out but it's 2nd April and Liverpool

Thanks for your help. Sue, I got the actual date from family. Also the birth year is recorded as about 1829/30 in 1881 and 1891 censuses and death in the BMD index 1837-1983. It could possibly be the same person. Also the name James recurrs in his children later.

you can order his marriage certificate which will give you his father's name and occupation.

Edward KENNELLY/Sarah HOWELLS marriage registered September quarter 1861 at St Georges Hanover Square volume 1a page 374. You can order online from the GRO in Southport.
