Find Ancestors

i am jamie dennis lilley, my father was dennis frederick lilley, he died in 1996 aged 63, his father was frederick lilley who died in the maida vale hospital for nervous diseases around about 1950, we come from paddington, apart from a few photos and some stories i don't know much about my family history, frederick lilley had some brothers, i know one was tommy and he was a bit of a charactor, my grandmother ivy 'maiden name gillard' lilley said they all came from marylebone, thats all i know. would love to know more about my roots. I was a minicab driver around the mid 1980's and picked up a chap who worked in the royal bank of scotland in stamford street,London, SE1, i took him accross the river to the royal bank of scotland in queen victoria street if my memory serves me right his name was Lilley, i mentioned to him that i was a Lilley, not much else was said, he looked the spit of my grandad frederick lilley from photos i have seen, i wish i told him that at the time. I know so little about where my family name and my ancestors come from, i would love to know much more.
