It appears from the above that most of the people you are looking for are from 1935ish as the freebmd finish at 1925 I am unable to look up the information for you.

If you order your fathers birth certificate it will givve details on there for his parents. The same for your mothers side.

If you can get back to about 1901 there are lots of census and other things you can look at online.

Hopefully someone will be able to find the birth refer or even the marriage certificate of your mum and dad as this will give parents names on them and work back from there.

You may already be aware of this??

Regards Paula

You dont have any brick walls, you just need to learn how to research.

As Paula says - start with the info you have for definite and work backwards. Get your parents marriage cert which will give both their fathers names and occupations. OR if you know their birth dates, put them on here and people can look up their birth refs for you and you can then get those certs and know both of their parents names. You can then keep working backwards through certs and census information.

Check out tips for newbies on the Tips Board.

Meanwhile give the birth dates and people will try to help.

What about the year you have 1934 for your father is that correct also the area.

Do you have the details of your mothers birth and area, I believe you also wanted to trace that side of the family.

The complete BMD indexes 1837-2005 are available on Ancestry.co.uk.

Subsciption charges vary between £60-£80 per year, but are well worth the cost for the amount of information and records available.(Census,BMD,WW1 Army Records etc.)

You can have a free 14 day trial, before you subscribe.

If you go to

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

then click on order certificates

then you will see the information they ask for relates to the numbers that people have given you on the birth references, certificates cost £7 and should (not always) reach you in 7-10 days.

Do you know when Winifred & Ernest's eldest child was born?

That will help to give an approx year for their marriage.

p.s. I've re-written their birth ref. details to make it easier to understand.

You're welcome. You made them easy to find by providing the years.

Shame about the 14 day free trial, they must know that not everyone wants to have a credit card. I wonder if you can register by switch/delta?

But anyway, members on here are more than willing to do look ups...so don't be afraid to ask.

Hi Avril

If you order the certificates for your parents you can then work backwards and see what other info you can find out about your family.

There are a lot of people on here only to willing to help, which I have found out myself in the past.

Good Luck

Regards Paula
