The Mackrill name is Gaelic. It was spelt as MCPHERGHAIL, once you remove the PH you have the English version as MACKRILL, meaning SON ( MAC ) OF A FISHERMAN. The Mcpherghail's were known as barbarians back in Ireland & Scotland. They had a castle, & they used to invite people they didnt like or their so called enemies, would put them in a special room up the top, during the night a special lever was pulled the bed tilted forward & the occupants were sent sliding into the sea never to be seen again, this piece of history is documented & was around 1194.
