I am seeking information or help with the Musto_Loats families in my tree. I have John and Jane Musto having children Thomas, Elizabeth and possibly Alice, born between 1799 and 1806 in Shoreditch, Middlesex, UK.

Thomas 'married' Jane Elizabeth Loats, born c.1820 in Christchurch, Surrey, UK and I have three children for them, born between 1841 and 1858, (gaps of 7 and 10 years respectively).

Although I have suggested marriage between John/Jane and Thomas/Jane Elizabeth, I have no proof. I also feel that the gaps of 7 and 10 years between children are abnormally lengthy. Furthermore, I haven't a clue where either the Musto or Loats families came from.

If anyone can help or make suggestions, I should be mightily grateful, as I have been stuck on this side of my late Mother's family for years.

Pauline, could you clarify something? You say in one place that you got Jane Elizabeth Loats from the birth certificate of children, with father's name as JOHN Musto.

You also say "THOMAS married Jane Elizabeth Loats"

Was Jane Elizabeth married to John or Thomas? (or both)

Also, when you started this a year ago an 1851 census was posted for you to confirm if it was the right family - could you please do so now?
