By the way, the police training centre seems to be in Bramshill, a couple of kilometres from Eversley:

Finally, some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Staff_College,_Bramshill

-------------------------------------------------------------------

It was established in 1948 as the National Police College, and was renamed in 1979. From 1948 to 1960 it was located at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, and moved to Bramshill in 1960.

Bramshill was part of Centrex, the Central Police Training and Development Authority, established under Part 4 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001

Bramshill has ceased to call itself the Police Staff College, and is the foremost of the seven Centrex sites in the country. It is also where the Chief Executive of Centrex for the whole country is based.

As of the 1st April 2007, Centrex and Bramshill (with all other 6 sites in the UK) will become part of the National Policing Improvement Agency. Get more information here:http://www.npia.police.uk

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You might be able to find out whether there is any kind of group through which former instructors could be contacted.

By the way, Deborah, before posting my reply in this thread I did make some attempts, using google, to find info about the police college and whether it has an alumni/ae association or the like. The effort that people make to help isn't always reflected in what you see in your thread, which is one reason I have recommended deleting your duplicate thread. People could be seeing it and doing just what other people did in trying to help out in response to this one, not knowing that it's already been done.

I'm not sure what your last message means Deborah......

If you go to the Search trees facility and type in John Masters with birthplace Hampshire, there are possibly 2 people with men born about the right time
(although in theory he could be any age...and not born in Hampshire but you have to start somewhere)
I would message the 2 people and ask if the John in their tree once worked at the Police College. .
They may not know about you, so I would try and establish whether or not it's the right person before divulging personal information.

If you search trees here at GR, you'll find someone who has a John Masters born 1936 in Hampshire (i.e. would have been about 25 in 1961). If you think that could be him, you can send a message to that tree owner.

Good luck!

Hi trying to find my father, I was born in Yateley august 1962. My mother is Lorraine Dare from Basingstoke. They met and worked at Eversley police college. Would be grateful of any help.
