James McCracken b: abt 1875 Co Down M; Mary.... joined Dragoons in Antrim, left for a couple of years then joined the Royal Artillery, serving for almost 22 years.. had a son, James [2], born in Malta 1814, do not know of any others.. James [2] joined the same regiment, again for almost 22 years, m: Isabella Pierce in Devon 1839, had a fair brood the first being another James [3] then John [my G grandfather] and they ended up in Brompton [Medway] Kent, where my Grandmother was born... Has anyone come across McCrackens from Medway? or from Co Down or Antrim that could add to my ancestors? Regards Ivor
