Mary Report 6 Dec 2007 00:16

I know from their marriage certificate that his father was John McIntyre, a farmer, and her father was Stephen Carr, teacher of navigation. Peter was a mariner. He lived in Frederick St Liverpool and Isabella in Duncan St.

They were living at 3 Blackburne Place Liverpool at the time of my gr gr grandfather's birth in 1852. His name was John Stephen McIntyre.

I would love to find out any information, especially the names of the wives of John McIntyre and Stephen Carr and any other children they may have had.

My gran always said the McIntyres came from Scotland. She couldn't have known her father was born in Liverpool. I hope John was from Scotland. Does anybody out there know?????

Thank you

Victor

so Isabella moved back home for the birth of John Stephen!

I haven't managed to find the McIntyres on any census, although there is a John McIntyre age 18, Boarder on the 1871 census .......... not completely convinced it is your John.

I looked back at the 1841 Census

Stephen is marked as born inScotland, and Mary was born in Lancashire

Stephen is a Teacher of Navigation.

They are living at Kilroy's Court, Norfolk Street, Liverpool St Thomas

Thank you Victor, that information looks very likely. Their ages differ from the 1851 census info that Sylvia found for me but it gives me something to go on.

I am stuck on Peter McIntyre and his father John. Hope someone else can add a bit more.

Thanks again

Thank you Sylvia, I am very grateful for all the info. I didn't know Stephen Carr was from Scotland and the address they were living at in 1841 is also another new piece of the jigsaw.
The dates for their births differ from the 1841 census but thats not unusual.

Many thanks

Mary
