Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 1 Send Message	I've traced my father's family back to my G grandfather John McKay who was born in Ayrshire Scotland in 1840/41 and have hit a dead end. John emigrated to Australia and married Emily Ingram in 1883 and they had 7 children: George Lily Beatrice John Herbert Mary Ann Elsie Can anyone help please? Lesley Holt (nee McKay)

If he was in New South Wales, then you can google www.bdm.nsw.gov.au From this site you should be able to find out when and where he died and who his parents were. There are other sites so just google Births Marriages and Deaths, Australia. To trace your family in Scotland, google scotlandspeople, or bmd in Ayrshire either of these will give you research tips.
