Looking for anybody connected to Elias Mees born c. 1819 Winsley, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, UK - he was transported, 1839, for life to Van Dieman's Land (now Tasmania) for stealing a sheep and one or two other little things! Having got his record from the Tasmanian Archives the last entry for him was April 1844 so we know he lived at least that long and he was assigned to a government agency not a settler - he was twenty years old when transported - wondering if anybody the other side of the world has any information on him. He had three brothers that we know of - George (my G great-grandfather), Elijah and John Mees all born in the same area
