I wonder if Ralph Nathaniel is Bartholomew and Annie slightly changed things to prevent being found?

I dont see how Ralph and Bart can have been born the same year if they are not one and the same??

I know you can have 2 kids born same year,but in this instance there do not seem to be.

The Paulo found on the 1911 and a boarder, it's worth noting that if the person he was lodging with had never seen a wife visiting and never asked assumed he was single?

That birth got me going for a while too until I found the death. Would have solved a lot of problems.
I noticed that Paolo says he is single on the 1911. Maybe he just wasn't very good at being married. I didn't manage to find the rest of the family who are with him in 1901. He seems to be the only Pazzal on the 1911 unless they are all mistranscribed. I didn't look too hard.

There are no deaths before 1911 for these children ,nor are they showing on 1911.

No i don't think he has remarried, he's just simply a widower. He's just never remarried .

Another thing you have to remember, the 1911 is filled in by the head of the household.

This could be what Robert's interpretation of Annie's name was !

He might not have known the actual spelling or enunciation!

I'm aware of that Tracey but it was a possibility that he had re-married and been widowed again. I'm trying to cover all of the options whilst I continue to go around in ever decreasing circles!

Firstly let me brooch the subject of Robert Snr being a widower.

He was a widower in 1901 and a widower in 1911, this does not mean he's remarried again and lost another wife, he's still a widower from the death of his wife in 1899 !

I am researching Robert Noble Metcalfe born 1906 Wallsend, Northumberland. It is not my family I am looking into it for a friend.

I have his birth certificate .
Born 24th November 1905.
Father Robert Noble Metcalfe Master shoemaker
Mother Annie Metcalfe formerly Brown.

The problem is that Robert Noble Senior is a widower in 1901 his wife Sarah Jane having died in 1899 and a widower in 1911 and there doesn't appear to be a marriage in between those years.
To add to the puzzle there is Annie the Servant and her son Bartholomew.
I couldn't find the name Vazell anywhere. So I looked for a birth for Bartholomew. Nothing.
Then I found a marriage for Pazzal.
Polo Pazzal married Annie Isabella Clarey in 1902. Fine. But still no son Bartholomew.
There is a possibility that Polo re-marries in 1906. No death for Annie Isabella so if it is him they must have separated or divorced.

In 1914 Robert N Metcalf marries Annie I Pazall in South Shields.

So is Annie I Pazall the Annie Metcalfe nee Brown on the birth certificate of Robert born 1906 and possibly the younger son John too. Is she in hiding. Who is Bartholomew? Just what is going on here?

I have Robert Noble Junior going forward and his marriage and children one of which was named Annie Isabella and I have Robert Noble Senior going back. It's just this that is puzzling me.
