Think this may be Leah as she is not on 1851 with parents.

So you have Leahs daughter Catherine to thank for the midwifery Gene then ...

Jamwar Report 6 May 2010 12:49

That's them allright Fanny by gaslight! The names have run throug the family, my brother, grandfather & Uncle Rowland. They weren't a very imaginative lot. I like the certified midwife bit, so am I!!

Sorry, had to take a break. Not a lot on Leah only that she is mentioned in those letters. Living in Garndiffath 1871 as was Mary, married to Anthony Lloyd & with daughter Anne who was 6/12 old in '71 She must have been the youngest I think so born after 1849. she wrote one of the letters in 1867.

Ooooo, certified midwife, brave woman as it was really thought by men that it was not necessary to have training in midwifery and had to be fought for almost as hard as the vote for women,,but of course it wasnt the men dying of chidbirth...

FannyByGaslight Report 6 May 2010 12:11

Nope.

Leah in OP was Mary James sister....Father William James as per 1871 with her.

But Mary and Edward Morgan DID have a daughter Leah who could not have possibly married Anthony Lloyd in 1869.

Yes Fannybygaslight, I am pretty sure these are the right ones. The childrens names all add up as do the places of birth. The 1851 result from Ginny looks right. Beaufort is where the family came from. Thanks again to you both.
