Hi

My grandmother was born in Liverpool in 1907 and was called Alice Dorothy Murphy. Her father was Thomas A Murphy. There are loads of Thomas A Murphy in the records and for around that time it is very difficult to find things out. Her father died when she was only a baby so around 1907/1908. I believe she was one of about seven children. Does anybody know of any relatives.

your best bet is to get a copy of her birth certificate to get her mothers name so you can then get a copy marriage certificate which will give you more info on Thomas to find them in 1901. There are at least 3 Thomas A marriages from late 1800s to 1908 to brides named Mary A BROOKS, Catherine MILLIGAN and Edith McCOY...do any of those names mean anything to you?
