Am still struggling to find the parents of Charles Openshaw born c 1822.
He married Rachel Johnson 1838 at St Chads Rochdale; his father is recorded as John, a farmer and her father was Thomas, a wool comber.
Charles and Rachel had at least 4 children, John. Thomas. James and a daughter.
I think Charles died between 1848 and 1850.
(Rachel then married William Meridith)
The only death I can find around the time was in Stockport, which would connect with John and Hannah Openshaw (residing in Ludworth, Cheshire from 1841 onwards).
For some reason I don't think they are connected, but anm stuck as how to prove otherwise.
Charles resided at Firlane, Bury at the time of his marriage.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO SOLVE MY PUZZLE?
