ORRISS was a fairly common name in Suffolk in the 19th and 18th centuries. Many of the young Orriss folk moved to east London (including my grandfather Frank Orriss, who married in Plaistow in 1922). In S.W. Suffolk the name is closely linked with that of ORRIDGE. My own line can be traced back to a marriage in Lidgate in 1597. I have a considerable amount of information on the Orriss and Orridge families of Hundon and Lidgate, so contact me if you think I can help.
