I'm trying to find more information on my mums side of the family. All I know is that they come from the chorley area and she was born in 1950,. can anyone help me please.

There's a Joyce A Parker registered in the 3rd quarter 1950 in Chorley (Vol 10c Page 23). Her mother's maiden name is Gaskell.

Thanks for your help. my mums name was joyce Anne Parker so I think it'll be the same person. Do you know if it possible to trace her mum and dad from that information as i'm stuck as how to go about it. Andrea

You can buy her birth certificate online at www.gro.gov.uk for £7 (the GRO index reference is as above - Vol 10c Page 23 ). This will tell you her parents' names.
