I'm researching the origins of a Parnaby family who lived in Staindrop, Durham in the 1790s. Father's name Christopher Parnaby, born circa 1761, possibly in Aycliffe Durham. Mother's name Ann Hardy, born in Hamsterley, Durham about 1760. This couple married in Hamsterley in 1787, per IGI. The Parnaby name appears in Durham parish records quite frequently, with concentations in Hamsterley, Barnard Castle and Auckland St. Andrew. I would like to make contact with anyone who has information on the family, from any source, since this is one of my 'direct' lines, which I'm hoping to trace further back, if possible. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give. I do not live in the UK, so rely heavily on information I receive from fellow researchers who do, so please give sources whenever possible. |
