Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 0 Send Message	Has anyone heard of Nicholas Popham b.1820 St Giles in the Wood, Devon, he married Ann Maria Buttanshaw and had children as follows - Nicholas b.1856 Oswestry William Albert b.1858 Fermoy, Southern Ireland Laura b.1864 St Thomas, Devon Minnie b.1867 St Thomas, Devon Walter John b.1870 St Thomas, Devon Arthur Edward b.1874 Exeter In 1861 the family are stationed at Weymouth Barracks with 200 others. Sub reg district = Melcombe Regis. Nicholas himself is not listed but the following people are listed - their son William A. aged 3, Ann M. Popham – wife – born 1831 Kent, Ann M. Popham – daughter – 2 months old and born in Dorset. Also mentionned are 3 other Pophams, I am unsure if they are related: Michael Popham b.1821 Devon, listed as “father” and “married”. 11th Regiment/1st battalion. 40 yrs. Michael Popham b.1855 Shropshire, listed as “son” 6 years old. Not in same section as the others is Richard Popham b.1840 Devon. 21 yrs old. Relationship = “private”. ?un-married.
