Trying to find Trevor and Barbara Rands (My Aunt and uncle)
I need to know Barbara's Maiden name, she was born in Jersey, Trevor Rands a black cab driver and known as Bill was one of 3 boys born to Vera Trice who was born 1916 in Portsmouth and Robert Rands c1913-1989

he is Trevor W Rands so probably William is his second name hence known as Bill BUT there's no marriage for him to a Barbara the only one is to a Sandra ????

Ive always known her as Barbara but you can never rule out anything, nick names are very common on this side of the family very confusing :(

If Barbara was born in Jersey, one would have to assume that the marriage took place there - hence my earlier suggestion that you need C I records.

Edit: Have found another Trevor W Rands born in Essex who is most likely the marriage found also in Essex ,so not the same man.!!

Why not buy his death cert - find out who registered it- etc?

Just to add, we think there is a sister to Barbara still alive in Jersey. But without a maiden name I've nothing to search for. Just would like to find a living relation for a change :(

Do you have an approximate year of marriage?

I can have a look in the Jersey marriage records but without some idea of the date it would be a mammoth task. It would mean loooking through individual records for 12 parish churches, the Registry Office plus quite a few other churches.

Did they have any children? Perhaps a birth certificate would give you the information you are looking for.

They had no children between them but, Im going on family talk that Barbara had given two children up for adoption. This has only come to light in the past year or so.So really need to find out her maiden name. Im told it was french sounding which is useful! (laugh out loud)

I've had a look through all of the St Helier marriage records and there is no Rand listed at all.
Just to add that growing up here in the 50's and 60's I had never seen anyone with coloured skin until I visited England with my parents in about 1963 so I think the chances of them meeting and marrying over here are slim.
