please someboby help me as iam not getting anywhere,i have a frank h robinson born westham sept 1915.he married a louisa harriet maud young,franks parents are alexander and mabel emma robinson (mabel formally palmer)that is all the information i have so if anyone can help me please do

Hard row to hoe, so many Frank Robinsons who might have got married around when and where he did, eh?

Do you have his exact date of birth, and have you checked the post-1984 death index? There's a Frank Robinson born 19 Sep 1915 died Jan 1990 in Birmingham ...

Was Louisa Harriet Maud Young the one born in 1907? It seems so, because there is this record of death:

That death certificate could give you some info that would help trace family.

Other than that, it seems there's nothing for it but to download and read the GRO pages starting when they got married -- if you don't know, find that first -- and look for Robinson-Young births in the vicinity. Not especially fun or fast ... and I still haven't figured out whether there's a resource somewhere that has that info indexed or more easily searchable.

Don't knock that death certificate stuff though! A woman in Australia just found a cousin who didn't know she existed, by ordering the death cert for his mother, when I found the record of her death on line:

And I put a man in California in touch with his birth mother in England last month, in two hours late one night, by first finding the death records for the people who were obviously her parents (lucky find, that one, the surname being actually unique in England that time).

Also, Joanne, if that's the right death and the death cert doesn't tell you what you need -- it's off to the public library to search newspaper archives on microfilm to find a published obituary, which would undoubtedly give info like children's names. Or maybe contacting funeral homes or cemeteries in the vicinity of the address at the time of death ...
