Find Ancestors

I am trying to find out anything about my father-in-law Thomas Rolfe. Born 6th Feb 1899, we do not know where he was born, he died in London in 1945. He was first married to Dorothy nee Calvert, we think they may have had two children, they divorced, he then married my mother-in -law Doris, nee Complin. My father-in-law was also a member of the salvation army in Hornsey in London. My father-in-law has two children my husband David and a daughter Janet. His mothers name was Eliza, died in London 1946, aged 81 years, his fathers name was either Thomas or William, no other details. My father -in-law had a sister called Catherine Annie, born 1900 she married a George Meyrick.possibly had children. I have searched every record I can think of also the salvation army, I can find nothing there is no trace of any birth certificates for either Thomas or Catherine, I have been searching for over four years, I hope some one out there may have the missing links Thank you.
