Trying to find Rose

I have hit a brick wall and I am hoping that someone out there can help me find out a little more about my great grandfather, John Rose. He first appears on the 1871 Census, born at Hungerford c1843. He is now married to Isabella Durban and lives in Hanwell. On his marriage certificate John did not write his name but signed with a mark and his father is named as William,deceased. John is an engine driver. He and Isabella's children were John William,Thomas Walter, Alfred,Florence, Albert and Emily. If anyone could tell me anything no matter how small I would be very grateful.
