My maternal grandmother, Winifred Rowley, was born around 1899 in or near Lye (nr. Stourbridge, Worcs). There is a family connection to Rowley Regis. She was the oldest of several but some bits of the family fell out (my Mum remembers stopped conversations when she entered the room!). Winifred had to leave school at 12 to work in an enameling factory; she was already living with her Grandma and aunt in a bigger house than her parents. If you have any connections to the Rowleys in the Stourbridge area please get in touch. Helen Guirr.
