trying to find derek scott who is my uncle and emigrated to australia in the 60,s. he was b 1925 and was from westoe southshields and married a girl called hazel in england before he emigrated,can anyone help thanks june |

Hi June, The RYERSON INDEX (NSW newspaper death notices to present day) (on-line) has this: Derek Scott d 4/2/1988 (Sydney Morning Herald 6/2/88) - late of Somerville VIC and Tenterfield. ... There a a few 'Hazels' mostly with 'middle' names -does yours have one? ........... To follow up this Derek you could check electoral rolls - from 60/70's -suggest begin in Somerville area Victoria ....then Tenterfield NSW. (hopefully Hazel will show up too). The VIC and NSW State Libraries have an 'Ask a Librarian' service (query form on-line) ...they will check their records including electoral rolls for you. ....... The RYERSON INDEX will do 'look-up' of death notice (site on-line)..... Lastly(!) 'Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness' has volunteers in NSW (I noticed a 'Marilyn' in Sydney) & others in Vic for some help. .....Valerie (W Aus) |
