Francis would have been my husbands great grandfather, was born in Blackburn Lancs in 1856 and died in January 1908.

I understand he had cancer and comitted suicide at home, being found by his daughter.

I have been told it was recorded in The Telegraph in Blackburn, ( local paper) following an inquest.

Does anyone know where to find the actual inquest records, and how i can access a copy of the newspaper article .

Any clues would be much appreciated.

Thank you

You could ask the local library in Blackburn or you could join the library on line and get access to their on line newspapers

Angela, I have found 2 inquest reports via local libraries and newspapers. I e-mailed the Library Local Studies officer. One did it for free and the other charged for photocopy only.

I do not think that you can get actual Coroner's Reports as I understand they were not saved. But you could try the coroner's office in Blackburn and ask the question.
