Caroline Report 23 Dec 2007 15:34

My Grandfather was born at 48 Cobden St in 1904 and is said to have been sent to live with his grandparents on the death of his parents approx. 1908.
However even at the South Shields records office I could not find death records for John and Margaret Smith.
Does any one know how I might find a record of their death or how I can look at the electoral records to see when they last lived at this address without having to visit, as I live in the South of the country.
I am beginning to think they did not die but moved elswhere leaving their children with family.
I would be grateful for any help or ideas.
Thanks Caroline
