Bonnie Breach Report 7 May 2007 04:50

Lucy Anna Phyllis STEVENS was born 12 May 1871 in Brighton, Sussex, according to our family records. Listed in the 1881 Census, this is likely her family: Richard STEVENS, age 82, born Brighton, Sussex. (formerly bricklayer unemployed) Sarah STEVENS, age 52, wife, born Westeull, Surrey. (charwoman) Phabe STEVENS, age 19, born Brighton, Sussex. (domestic servant) Lucy STEVENS, age 11, born Brighton, Sussex. (scholar) They resided at 6 Crescent Cottages, Brighton, Sussex. Lucy Stevens married George BREACH on 15 June 1895 in Cartwright, Manitoba, Canada, and resided in Hansboro, Towner County, North Dakota, where she owned one quarter of land She died 2 March 1913 in hospital, Devil's Lake, North Dakota. Probate listed her next of kin as George DALE, age 46 husband, George Herbert, age 17 son, Ernest Frederick, age 13 son, and Reginald Alfred, age 8 son. Soon after Lucy died, the entire family resumed using the surname of BREACH, although lived their lives there as DALE. Lucy STEVENS was my grandmother, and I am searching for her family. ANY information about this STEVENS line from BRIGHTON is greatly appreciated!
