Was Gladys a witness to the marriage? Is that why she is mentioned on the cert?

The Hall children we think were from Birmingham SarahEizabeth(sally) married a Charles Evans, Francis married a Frank Cullis and mary married a Ron Builder. I am not sure Gladys was really a Gladys only going on her son williams marriage cert. They might never have married which could be a possibillity William was married on xmas day 1924 to phoebe maria cooper at st johns church brierley hill west mids. Ali

Do you know when the Hall children were born? If we could find one of their births the cert would give Gladys's maiden name and we could then search for a marriage, which might give a pointer to where William was born. I cannot find a Frederick Reynolds marrying a Gladys between 1890 and 1902. Are you sure her name was Gladys?

You said you have William's marriage certificate stating that his father was Frederick..

What age was William when he married, I may be able to trace a marriage cert for Frederick & Gladys?

Does it not give Gladys' maiden name on the marriage certificate?

Have had a look at the BMDs for Dec 1/4 1902:

William Arthur Reynolds W.Bromwich Vol 6b Page 888

William Arthur Reynolds Birmingham Vol 6d Page 152

William Johnson Reynolds W.Bromwich Vol 6b Page 881

and William Sidney Reynolds Stourbridge Vol 6c Page 223

I can't identify the correct one with the info you have provided.

Would you know when William & Gladys were married?

I have been unsuccessfully trying to trace my fathers family tree for him. Please help i really dont know which way to go and need expert advice. I am trying to trace the birth of his father William Reynolds in the midlands on 29th Nov 1902. I have search Dudley and Stourbridge areas but have all come back without success. On Williams marriage cert it states his father was Frederick, a puddler . .deceased. His mother was Gladys? We know gladys remarried and had three further childen all named Hall.. William had a brother George, and sisters Gladys and Daisy. My father has told me that they used to visit an aunt(possible Daisy) in Birmingham and that his father worked for a while in Wolverhampton, because i dont know where anyone came from i am finding this impossible. Anyone know a way forward? many thanks. Alison.
