Russell, I'd speculate on the early children of the 1918 marriage being
1Q1904 William Miles Stoner, Leeds 9b485
2Q1905 Elizabeth Emily M Stoner, Leeds 9b508
4Q1907 Frederick George M(iles) Leeds 9b396
1Q1912 Sidney H M Stoner Leeds 9b597

There were deaths
1Q1909 William Miles Stoner aged 5 Leeds 9b383
4Q1912 Sydney M Stoner aged 0 Leeds 9b382

and a possible marriage
2Q1932 Elizabeth E Stoner to Robert P Blake, Leeds North 9b679

As you know, Frederick married Charlotte Hunter.

There was one other Stoner birth in Leeds during that period
2Q1910 Maria Leeds 9b332
and death
2Q1910 Maria aged 0 Leeds 9b242

Birth was
Dec 1867 Storer William Durant, Lambeth 1d 299
and the marriage
Storer William Durrant & KIRBY Elizabeth Rosina, St.Olave 1d 493.

Russell, Do you have any idea of Elizabeth's age? Or know when she died?

Alan - are you sure the Elizabeth R Stoner in 1901 has been mistranscribed - see marriage in 1918 above

sorry - just looked at 1901 ;listing and that Eliz would have been too old

Hi Alan.
Thanks for the input on Elizabeth Stoner.

Have ordered m.cert to find out who her father was. Perhaps it's one of many keys!
Cheers

Stoner appears to have married Nicholls in 1901 but there was a Stoner birth with Nicholls as mmn
4Q1914 Muriel A Stoner, Willesden 3a518 so maybe no Leeds connection.

Ancestry has a Elizabeth R Stoner in 1901 census but it's an error for Storer.

I agree that the m/c is desirable. Would like to know the second forename. The index definitely has 'R' - but was it right?

Did Mr Stoner die I wonder? Then she got together with Mr Miles, had a couple of children, and for some reason married Mr Miles 6 years later.

Can someone check the marriage reference on Ancestry please for the missing groom in June 1918 (ref above)

Thanks,

Russell,

Silly Question!

Was Miles the surname or 2nd middle name? I looked at the births and saw registered Frederick G Stoner 1907 Leeds West? Was Eliz Stoner a married woman then?

Looking for info on Elizabeth Stoner, nee Nicholls.
Lived Meanwood Street, Leeds, October 1907.
Son Frederick George Miles (no father listed on birth cert)
dated 15th October 1907.

Q. Was he illigitimate?
Q. Was the father absent
Q. Possible tie with surname-Miles?

Can anyone help, please
