Linda,

Is the only source of reference to your grandmother's name the entry for mother's maiden name in the GRO index for your mother's birth.

Once you have your mother's birth certificate it will be interesting to find out her parents full names. There are very few entries on Ancestry with the surname BROLYN. I wonder if it has been mistranscribed. BROWN perhaps?

I'll be interested to hear the outcome when you get her birth certificate

HI PETE, I HAVE JUST FOUND MY MOTHERS BROTHERS DETAILS OF HIS BIRTH AND MY GRANDMOTHERS NAME WAS BROBYN. IF THIS NAME IS NOT A DEVON NAME DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT ORIGINATES FROM.
