Good evening Jill

I quite agree with you Ward could easly have been written instead of Wort so they are possibles - I will have to go back to my friend who I am reasearching for and see if any of the sibling names make any sense

Thanks for your time and insterest so far

I wonder if she pronounced the name Wart or Wort. If she pronounced it Wart it would be easily misheard as Ward ....

Thanks for your interest Jill

No I have nothing - that is why I hoped someone might know the reference for that address then it would be a very easy task to see if they had been there

OK - no sign so far.

There are a few coming up in the Ladywood area but I cannot search just on the address in Ancestry.

Have you found him in 1891 and 1901. It will probably be easier to try and find George and Elizabeth just using forenames as they may have been mistranscribed.

If you have them in 1891 what ages are they and where were they born? If we can find them then problem solved.

Hi

I'm looking for Thomas George Wort - the address I gave is the one given on his birth certificate - so I then thought there is a chance his parents are at the same address in the 1881 census.

His parents are given as George and Elizabeth

Thanks everyone

June

One of their first names and rough date of birth would help - sometimes it's easier to look for forename - no surname - and year of birth.

Can anyone please assist me with a search by address ?

I would like to know who was living at 123 Nelson Street West in the sub district of Lady wood , Birmingham during the census of 1881.

The person I am looking for was born there in December 1881 per their birth certificate (so fingers crossed the family was there for the few months preceding that)

I am trying to find the Wort family - I am hoping that anyone who can look at the original census might find their names at the address given. Being quite an unusual I am hoping that it may have been transcribed incorrectly which is why I have been unable to locate them

I would be grateful if you could also give me the reference number for the address if you do find it

Thank you so much
