Hi

My father geoffrey holland was born in salford lancs, his mother josephine holland (nee coogan) died in 1956. His father was james william (bill) holland born 1902 (not sure where) james had a brother called charles born 1907 died 1941 killed aboard hms hood. He also had a sister called minnie born 1909 died 1990. His father was frank holland born 1875 in wolverhampton. He was married to mary jane holland (nee stone ), I have charles's birth certificate. Mary died while minnie was still young and frank or francis as he sometimes went by re-married an alathea holland (nee gillot) still in salford, they had a son called frank (known as frankie) in 1925, frankie was killed in an accident in 1932. Great grandad frank died in 1944. My dad geoffrey also had a sister rita born in 1945 think she married but I do know she worked for the blood bank on robey street in manchester. Anyway their mother josephine died in 1956 and their dad bill re-married a lady I believe called mary toole (not sure of her maiden name as she had been married before). They married in 1958. Mary already had children of her own, non to bill. My dad married my mum and they moved away in the early 60's dad kept in touch and his sister and step mum even visited him here a few times. Then he stopped seeing them and decided to go looking for them. The area he had grown up in in salford had gone through re-generation and the homes he had known had changed he couldn't find his dad or sister. I still have not been able to find out what happened to them. Dad died last year not knowing what happened to them. So if anyone has any info on these hollands it would be greatly appreciated.

I have found one or two of the cousins glynnis who's mum was minnie and keith and derek who's dad was charles. They don't know what happened to them either.

regards julie devenport (nee holland)
