I.ve just checked ....but I have two Busbys who married two sisters ....when I looked they came from the same Village ......one male moved to London and sent form his girl married ...while his brother married and stayed in the village ! ...
The first then a generation became a Hicks

So it did happen ....prehaps more in villages where life was less open ....guess thats where the in-bred situations came from ....

Ha ha ha ha sorry about that , computer decided to crash bang wallop and I had to wait until saturday night for my son to arrive to fix it.. Well here goes..
I have the death cert for leonard and it turns out that Edward was not his dad Arthur was now... arthur was a lost relation that no-one seems to know what happened to him !! did he get alice preggers and then his brother married her ??? well no it seems that arthur married his hicks!! BUT on the death cert is says that the father was present at the death it does not mention the mother !! well I have ordered the birth cert to get the full name of the mother to see if it is indeed alice or another hicks!! but this is a weird one because - what are the chances of two couple both being Holtom & hicks marrying around the same time in the same village !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is something not right here but I will get to the bottom of it as it is driving me nuts :) I will return as soon as the birth cert arrives

Ummm when you live in little villages like us you don't have stonemasons near ha ha the population of that village is properly about 125 people if that, they only have 1 pub and a post office and thats it, and to be honest I think the nearest stonemason to us is 40 mile away. I will ask any of the older folk in the village to see they know who used to do it and see if I can get some clues. Sherlock will be back !! Lol
