Just looked at the newspaper article again. The name Hilda is there. Mr Eggitt was at the funeral but no mention of Hilda being there.

I found a Hilda Gray marrying Arthur J Eggitt 1942 J-M Scunthorpe
I couldn't find any Overton's marrying any Grays though

The problem I have is I hav a John William Elwiss Gray born 1879 in New Holland, Lincolnshire. He married Sarah Niles in 1906. He had a son called James. NOt sure if they had any other children together. Sarah died in 1915 aged 34. Then the next marriage I know about was in 1924 to a Kate A Watson. Kate had been married before but I dont know who to.

From a newspaper article written at time of his death in 1943 it gave the following children.

Denis Gray a son.
Mrs Overton a daughter
RH Watson Stepson
Mrs Cowling a Daughter
Mr Eggitt son in law.
Mr P Cassidy Adopted son.

From this I am trying to get the christian names of the daughters. I have tried FreeBMD with out sucess. It seems all his children are married by 1943 except Denis.

I was also wondering if he married again between 1915 and 1924.
