Hi seaham, thanks for that. Is there anyway i can crossref this to find DOB for him. He died 29 july 1943 st Lukes hospital borough of chelsea aged 80.

Hi Sam,`I`ve never seen this before. This is a possibility. There is big difference with DOB but mine could be wrong. Haent found him on anything just death cert by using the date from my fathers army book when he got special leave in 1943.

Afraid so, could`nt believe it myself. Family storie are vauge to say the least. So i`m really having a hard time finding info. I think he was a bit of a rouge.

Hi Lindsey, sorry about the lack of info (newbie). He was born in 1862 in Kent. Edith Annie Smith was born in 1896 in Nottingham. I cant find any marriage info, but i managed to find his death certificate just cannot find any birth info. On his death cert it says Name and surname: Lawrence Long otherwise Frederick Lawrence.

Hi I am trying to find birth info for my grandad. the surname he was born with was Lawrence Long, but he dropped the long when he was married to Edith Smith.
