Still 'on the case' Susan but nothing fits!

That Alice born in Essex looks a possible but I have followed it backwards and forwards and it still doesn't connect.

She does also have a Lucy who you mention, and her son Charles is a Horseman !! ?? - Something not quite right though.

Will keep at it,

Does the name 'Snape' attach anywhere?

I have never heard of a snape but who knows my nan seemed to call herself what she liked

Susan Report 6 Nov 2008 20:24

hi dea it might i have no recollection of that name but my nanwent under many names so anything is possible why

Dea Report 6 Nov 2008 20:32

Don't ask !! - my head is spinning !

It was just something I saw when I was chasing everybody backwards and forwards on census's - I seem to remember a 'Snape' somewhere - then I came across a marriage of an Emmalia Snape to a Smith - probably totally unconnected but there are not too many Emmalia's about !

I couldn't refind the first Snape though - I will have to back-track again.

Don't worry about it - probably a total 'red herring' but I will see if I can re-trace my steps and locate it again.

Don't worry - I don't get 'stressed' - just 'frustrated' - when I KNOW something is there to connect but I can't just find it yet!

I will see what I can come up with over the next few days.
