Hi Andy yes, those are the two which were refunded. I am now wondering whether to send for them again leaving the mmn blank??? Mind you, if they come back with Annie Duckett as the mother, I guess I am non the wiser ! Thank you for looking though.

Edit. On the 1881 the family are listed as Gervis - John and 'Mrs' !!

It is now almost May 2010 and I am at a loss!

I have Elizabeth's marriage cert dated Sept. 1901. Aged 21. Address 37 Broughton Terrace, Liverpool, same as bridegroom. Her father was John James Jervis - labourer.

You can see her on the census above living with father John and mother Annie. I looked for her parents marriage and found John Jervis to Elizabeth A(nnie) Thomason.


I sent for 2 birth certificates which I hoped were hers but both were refunded as the mmn was not Thomason.


In desperation I sent for her sister Julia's (above) and received it this morning......mother....Annie Duckett. Arggh.


I have looked through all census (including 1911) and on each one, Annie gives her place of birth as Liverpool but nowhere can I find a birth for an Annie Duckett in Liverpool, nor a Jervis/Duckett marriage.


One annoying thing is that Jervis is often misheard as Jarvis and the family veers between the two.


I have tried every combination I can think of to search for Elizabeth Jervis's mother but am now exhausted and would welcome some input from those more experienced than I am.


Even if it turns out to be blindingly obvious what I have missed, I would still be grateful for some advice and guidance. Thanks. Cx

Can someone please look up Elizabeth Ann Jervis of Liverpool please. She married George Taylor in 1901 and was probably born around 1880. Her father was John James Jervis but I don't know anything about him. I don't know what her mother's name was. Thank you.
