If you look at the 1901 census you will see that Eliza B Walrond c1822 is described as 'mother-in-law'.

Mabel's father, Henry Trengrouse c1842 was born in Helston, Cornwall. So it looks as if my thoughts about the West Country link are confirmed

It mentions Eliza Walrond who I imagine must be Mabel Trengrouses grand mother on her mothers side.

just realised 1881 & 1891 have different parents
have you got the birth cert of one of her children - it would confirm her name

the Mabel Walrond on 1891 census may be a mistranscription or enumerator error.

I would say so. Trengrouse is a West Country sounding name and it is possible that her parents came from there. Along with all the Walronds in that area you might find that her mother's maiden name was Walrond.

So is walrond a middle name, and Trengrouse the last name ?

Mabels huband Jonathan Bruce was killed in action in 1914.

The problem is that i dont know her birth place. There must be details somewhere of her marriage to Jonathan Bruce

There are also a lot of Walronds in Devon and Somerset on the IGI

Can anyone help me find more information about Mabel Walrond.She had 2 daughters One daughter is Aileen Bruce born 1908 in london. The other Barbara Bruce born 1910 in London. Mabels husband is Jonathan bruce. Not sure of his erxact year of birth, but around 1880.
