My Grandomthers name is Doreen Florence Holland b.1930 in Carshalton, Surrey...

I know very little about her or her family.... i found her father William Charles E Holland b.1901 in Camberwell, Surrey and d.1985 and her mother was Florence Rothwell b.1900 in Chorlton, Lancashire.

The dates might be a little out but that is all i know....

I would guess this is less likely because of her age. Also, I'm not sure where Hindley is - I will check.

Hindley is near Wigan but is closer than Chorlton is to Manchester, so not much help.

I'm certain that you will have to buy the birth cert for her.

If you have the marriage certificate for Doreen Holland this will help enormously, there is always a lot of useful information them. Do you have that? If not, do you know when and where she married and to whom?

Laura

Laura Report 3 Jun 2008 14:47

I dont have her marriage cert but i know my grandad's name was Alan Frederick Ginger b.1927... i will have to have a hunt for the certificates....

Thank you

Any certificates you can get hold of are invaluable. Relatives may also have some hidden away, so it is always worth asking them.

When was your grandparents' oldest child born? This helps to narrow down the timeframe for searching for the marriage reference - in case you need to buy the certificate.
