No I have ordered Doreens birth certificate. Doreen was born in Bradford in 1927. Her grandfather died in Halifax in 1931 and her mother and his daugther was living in Wyke, Bradford at the the time of the Grandfather's death. So I know that she was not born in Sheffield

Apart from going to Sheffield Library, is there any way of checking the Electoral Rolls online?

Rowena

Rowena Report 14 Jun 2008 12:01

It was a good though, I am going to see my mother in about a months time for a week, I could check then.

I've gone through the indexes from 1945 - 1955 for a Doreen Harrison to see if I could match her up - nothing, sorry!

Humm

Thank you MaryMc and Lost for words for your help and advice.

If I can't make it to Sheffield in a months time, I give them a ring. I know that they do a research service for £10 for 30mins and it would probably be worth it as it will 45mins on train from Bradford to Sheffield and probably cost more than a £10 return.

Cheers
