Thank you for your kind offer. The church I am looking at is St. Mary Marylebone. The names of the people I am searching for marriages of are:- Christopher Tribe (m) Sarah Unknown c1785 +or-10
Lucy Tribe (m) Henry Stuppart in abt. 1812
Ann Tribe (m)?
Sarah Tribe (m)?
If you come across anything about anyone named Tribe or Stupart of Stuppart or Stupert, then I would be very grateful for the information as am deadended in Marylebone around 1800 ish. Thanks for your kind help. Regards, June

Hi Cathy, would you see if you could find a marriage for James Clark and Susannah Scott Simpson at St Georges Hanover Squarec 1833-7. Also a baptism for any children especially William Stacey Clark born c1835.

Please could you check the St George Hanover square baptisms for John Mason (about 1807), Charles Mason (about 1802) and Jane Mason (about 1805). I'm hoping these 3 are all part of the same family. If the years are too vague and there are too many to search, don't worry.

1800 Feb 18 John Sackett, w, and Sarah Fallover, s, by B.L, Wits: Ann Waghorn, James Clark X

1809 Nov 20 Simon Fallover, b,and Catherine Smith, s, by B.L Wits: Jane Smith, Ed Churton.

I have checked the registers that go past 1800 (and thats not many!) and cant spot them. Most of the registers i have finish quite early...thats the problem.
I did find a Colwell marriage in St George Hanover Square. Not sure if its of use but will pass it on

The B and S stand for batchelor and spinster.

Would it possible for you to look for the death of a Martha Pearce ( Pierce or even Pearson!) I know she married in Hackney, Middlesex in 1852 and had died by 1858. So she might be registered around there.

I am trying to find details of my ggggg grandfather, James Colwell [possibley Colewell].

James married Margrate Murphy on 18 August 1761 at St James Westminster London [from IGI extracted records]

Their son - also James - was born 1764 in Stanton St John [the parish records show Baptism 1764 May 20 - Colewell James son of Margrate a travelling woman !]

James [b1764] married twice - first wife unknown, 2nd wife Ann - there were 10 children from the marriages:

Ann, Rachel, Luke, and Mark from the first marriage [Stanton St John Parish Register shows that Luke Colewell died aged 9 on 05 Sep 1802 - a poor boy left to the parish !]

James [c1801], Charles [c1807] Luke [c1808] Hannah [c1810], Maria [c1812] and Daniel [c1819] from the 2nd marriage.


Is it possible to check to see if they were born in the London area at all ?? Their place of birth on the census returns vary ! Maybe they had no idea where they wereborn !
