O.K.

Any idea of dates please + what was your nan's name and do you know where she was born?

Do you now approx when Charles died - aged 37 ?

Do you know when and where Charles & Christina were married ?

Do you have any dates ?

Julcoe

Julcoe Report 5 Jul 2008 14:36

This looks like their marriage.
If you buy the certificate it should have their fathers names and hopefully their ages so we can look for a birth.

Heres the marriage

The marriage cert will give you ages and fathers names and occupations to help the search backwards.

This MIGHT be her birth, but you need to get the marriage certificate which should give her age (dob)

There is a marriage 1924 Jun Q West Derby between Christina Mccann and Charles Donald
I have also found a Christina McCann b Liverpool 1882 Mar Q daughter of William and Mary A McCann but she would seem too old (43) to have married in 1924.I suggest you get the marriage cert which will tell you ages and parents names and then they can be traced on censuses

There is a space on the form which asks if you have the reference...you need to say yes. Then you use the reference given to you above and it should cost £7 as they do not have to search for it.

I think you just need to put June Quarter or JQ

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donald Charles McCann W. Derby 8b 705
McCann Christina Donald W.Derby 8b 705

Quarter - April, My, June.

Tick yes on 'do you have the GRO reference'

Hi,

Nice to have an update dani,

I take it her death cert shows her name as Kohler and I can tell you with certainty that this was her second marriage:

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1944
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
DONALD * Christina KOHLER Adrianus, Norris Green, St. Christopher Liverpool 2031WD/3/220

* nee McCann

You are lucky that this took place in Lancashire as Lancs Bmd site often gives previous name on second marriages.

GRO ref would be - Liverpool N. 8b 514 Jan/Feb/Mar Q1 1944

dea you are amazing!

yes christina kohler, her 2nd husband was dutch so i dont think that i will be able to find any information on his family would i? i will order that marriage cert now though, thanks.

my nan remembers that christina had 3 children that died. one was to charles and her name was theresa, she thinks that she was maybe 2-3 years old and she had 2 children with adrianus (known as harry) who both died as babies (either still born or a few months old) is there any way that i can find out about these children?

i have got the year of birth for her 5 children that she had with charles that lived.

thanks
