Thank You Rose
I wonder, his son (Herbert) always said that his Father was a twin, ( due to all of us having twins) so the family say,
strange, now I am wondering if the Herbert was a twin

I don't think there was a twin brother. There's no brother listed on the censuses and no other Atkin birth for Jun 1840.

I suppose this could be right, I was looking through my family tree things and I have found the copy of 1891 census, they are in 1 Annes Court Sutton with Stoneferry George Atkin is the head and he is a widow aged 46, he has Herbert his son age 13, and there is an Eliza Smithson 33 servent who is a widow.

Hi,
well I seem to have gone a little wrong on here, I thought I had to start a new thread if it was a different question even if it the same family, I guess I dont, both my parents have the same surname so I try to keep each side seperate, I deleated a thread last night, but now need to leave it a few days,It is very confusing having both sides of the family with the same name, I will try to get it right.
I appreciate all the help
thank you
