Going by a quick search of the 1901 census, there were 65 Pearsons living in Batley, none with Ireland as a place of birth. 3 of these were named Herbert. Two born in Batley one born in Ravensthorpe. |

Well for starters, is Pearson a common name in the area? Was there an influx into the area, say from Ireland? |

I'm trying to find information about my grandad or his family. His name is Wilfrid Leo Pearson and he was born in 1908 in Batley. His parents were Herbert and Margaret nee Gaffney. This has been a fruitless search so far and am now looking for anyone from Batley who can give me information on the town and its people. |
