Can anyone help,im trying to trace my paternal family tree,my grandfather is Andrew Armstrong Hunter born 3rd april 1912 edinburgh his parents are Samuel Hunter and Mary Jane Armstrong but cant seem to find anymore,i dont think im looking properly,i havent got the hang of it yet fully.lol.

Scottish records arent easy to find unless you visit the scotlands people website which is a pay per view site.

There are quite a few Samuel Hunters on the census so it would be hard to pin it down without a birth date. If you go onto Scotlands people you may be able to view their marriage certificate and find out what his parents were called.

I can find this one but there is no way of knowing if its the correct one or not without parents names

thanks for looking,i know Samuel Hunter and Mary Jane Armstrong were married 11 july 1902 in Haddington but thats all.I think i will have to try the Scotlands people site.

I found it at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, the site that Lindylu mentioned.
