Searching for Eustace-Bayliss births at FreeBMD, there are four girls born 1917-1921. Is one your direct ancestor?

I can understand how difficult it would be to investigate family history if Daniel (your grandfather or gr-grandfather maybe?) died when his eldest child was four.

At the moment, I'd get Daniel Jr.'s marriage certificate and see what it says for father. Do you have it perchance?

This could possibly be daughter Elizabeth in 1901 -- there is no other Elizabeth Eustace in 1891 who matches this one:

My theory at the moment: Daniel and Sarah were not married.

There are no records of the births of the two children as Eustace. They may have been registered under her surname.

But that doesn't explain the absence of registration of Daniel James Eustace's birth itself ...

Are you sure you have your dates right? There didn't seem to be a Daniel Eustace to match the one born 1881 you inquired about previously, or this one.

you'll find only one possible, in 1858, in Lambeth.

Have you identified the births of any children? If so, their birth cert will give you Sarah's surname.
