I think that could be a very good option Libby - it will also answer my question as to why she died only about 12 months after having David....

Diane

Diane Report 4 Aug 2008 16:33

The mark of John HOare, means he couldn't sign his name.

Bernice

Bernice Report 4 Aug 2008 16:32

Here's another spanner in the works, I think Mary was Shaw and that she was married previously, and as she first married before 1837 then cannot find her maiden name!!

I base this on the 1861 where a Frederick Shaw is living with John and Mary and a younger brother who I thought maybe were her sons, she was a few years older than John Hoare. I then looked at 1851 and sure enough Mary Shaw, Widow (and a chimney sweep) has a son Frederick Shaw (and other children) then looked at 1841 and there she is married to James Shaw with a son Francis aged 10 years & Frederick which means she married around 1830ish.

Of course this could be completely wrong.

Kind regards
Bernice

....so..... ??? Eek!

Also...what does that say in the column next to farm labourer?

There is like a small x then 'The ???? of '

Whats that??

CRIPES_A_MIGHTY

CRIPES_A_MIGHTY Report 4 Aug 2008 16:29

As Julie said..could be a M instead of an H

as the H in the mothers maiden name doesnt match the H in the fathers name

BUT...you have proved there is a David Hoar born in the right place and time as on the birt cert..so..?

Squeaky020

Squeaky020 Report 4 Aug 2008 16:29
